John Hewitt's journey began at the University of Buffalo, where his father's attempt to buy an H&R Block franchise led him to take the H&R Block tax course. This experience ignited his passion for tax services, setting the stage for future endeavors.
In 1981, John and his father developed the first tax software for an Apple computer. This was a groundbreaking achievement when technology was still in its infancy. They faced numerous challenges, including coding complexities and the transition from cassette tapes to floppy disks. This early foray into technology laid the foundation for John’s future success in the tax industry.
