How are you seeing Christmas this year?
Manage episode 389721606 series 3479081
During the Christmas season. We often try to see Christmas through the eyes of a child. The magic and surprise and excitement fill our hearts with wonder. But what if, instead of the eyes of the child, we looked at Christmas through the eyes of Mary, the mother of Jesus?
Hi, I'm Maggie Mobley from Sherwood Oaks Christian Church with the Minute Message.
Mary was a young woman from Nazareth, and she was chosen by God to be the vessel through which his Son would enter the world. She was a simple teenager living an ordinary life, yet she was given an extraordinary mission. Through Mary's eyes, we can witness the Christmas story in a new way. We can experience her surprise when she received the news from the Angel Gabriel that she will give birth to a son.
We can feel how she was scared and uncertain about what it all means, but ultimately, we can see Mary's faith as she says yes to God's will as the mother of Jesus. Mary story is a story of hope. A reminder that God can choose any of us to be a part of His plan. It is a story of obedience and a testament to the power of faith and trust in God.
This Christmas, I encourage you to take time to think of Christmas through the eyes of Mary as we celebrate the birth of her baby, our Savior.
