Travel is difficult this year, and finding somewhere to go where there will be exciting and fun things to do may seem like a daunting challenge. Visit Missouri; there are so many classic winter activities to try. Some great suggestions include skiing, sledding, shops, and restaurants. Additionally, there are unique attractions to see. Why not make it a weekend? Many area hotel partners have some great hotel deals.

National Park Museum There are six themed exhibit areas and interactive multimedia displays highlighting the history of an interesting city. These include narratives “Jefferson’s Vision,” “Riverfront Era, “Manifest Destiny, and “New Frontiers. Visit the famous arch that is 603 feet in the air,

Union Station The latest upgrade is housed in a repurposed building containing a 120,000 square foot Aquarium, home to thousands of species. Additionally, there is a Mirror Maze complete with a labyrinth, excellent family. You can also try a three-story Ropes Course, 90,000 cubic feet of climbing space, and 30 obstacles that go sky-high. If you feel more adventurous, Sky Rail Zipline is 50 feet above Union Station Lobby. If you have little ones, there is also a Sky Tykes for 48″ or shorter. There are six restaurants and bars to choose from if you get hungry, including Soda Fountain. A great way to finish is the 3D light show.

City Museum

It is 600,000 feet in a former International Shoe Company. You will find attractions like MonstroCity, places in the shoe shafts. Additionally, Enchanted Caves, Everyday Circus, and Cabin Inn, all-ages fun

James S. McDonnell Planetarian

An 80-foot skydome will make you think you are outside. There is also a Space Station the little ones can explore.

Escape Room

If you want to escape your house, how about go here? This is an excellent activity for larger groups. Together, you will solve puzzles, uncover secrets and work to unlock and exit. There are four uniquely themed rooms, each with its theme and storyline. Think fast, the clock is ticking! They are safety-focused and only allow private experiences.

The Magic House Children’s Museum

It is located in Kirkwood and is an excellent place for children to make messes and mudpies in their “mud kitchen.” They’ll also have an opportunity to explore a shallow stream and a creek bed. There are countless other activities, like making stick castles with native Missouri plants, climbing into a treehouse, pretend fishing, and even trying their hand at fixing a car, sensory play space gives challenges them to explore, classify, and organize all kinds of objects. If you get hungry, don’t worry, there is a pizza place in their Children’s Village.

Museum of Transportation

Trains, planes, automobiles, and trolleys, oh my! This is the place to go for an impressive collection.


Move-It’s Only Cold If You’re Standing Still

Topgolf

They have microchipped balls to keep track of each shot, accuracy, and distance. You will see it relayed back to the bay screen. They have giant targets, also enjoy full-service onsite restaurants and bars and more than 200 TVs. If you want to stay toasty warm, there is a rooftop terrace with a fire pit. No experience is required.
