The definition of person is changed to accommodate the views of the dominant majority and/or the powers that be to justify the subjugation and exploitation of another group, particularly those who are more vulnerable. Whether it be with a heavy hand such at the creation of law that proclaimed that Black slaves were 3/5 of a human being to justify their enslavement and limiting to their rights, or with a friendly fiendish smile, to influence (gaslight) one into believing that they are inadequate (either at that time or in general) and their dire circumstances reflects the reality of that inadequacy and thus they should do something detrimental to themselves or others. In either situation, coercion is used to legitimize the abuse and disenfranchise of one party to the benefit of another party. This is what we see with abortion, euthanasia, and removal of most human rights.
