In this episode I sit down with Kim Sutton, to discuss the science of playing math games for practice in the elementary classroom. She talks about how playing math games aligns with the principals of cognitive development. Kim addresses how math games can aid in the development of number sense and enhance math fluency plus much more. If you teach math in the elementary grades this is one podcast that you'll want to tune in for!
Kim Sutton is a fabulous presenter, who has taught thousands of teachers the joy and excitement of “hands-on” math. Kim’s teaching experience includes over 40 years of classroom teaching, time as a regional math specialist and as a university instructor. Kim has worked with over 500 districts nationally and internationally as a staff development consultant.
