I'm back to take care of some unfinished business. It's hard to say goodbye. Today we share with you our final episode of the ABC's of Rock. It's been an amazing journey and we have zero regrets. As they saying goes, as one door closes, another door opens and both Chloe and I are excited for new projects. Please follow us on our social media pages. Nathan can be followed on his film website at www.imfilmworks.com and @imfilmworks. Chloe has a Youtube channel 'Fab Family Four'. This feed will stay up and active with all new announcements of our upcoming podcasting, filmmaking, and YouTubing endeavors. There is one correction I need to make. I reference an album by Queen 'A Day At the Races'. It was very late and I meant to say their album 'A Night At the Opera'. Thank you for being a loyal listener. It has been an honor to be your hosts this past year and a half. I do not own the rights to any of the music played on this podcast. The musicians or the music labels own the copyright. It is good to be back after taking a week off from the show. Before anything else I want to thank all of you for being loyal listeners to The ABC's of Rock. I've been dedicated to this show for a 65+ episodes, since the very start of the pandemic. Today though I make the announcement that I will be taking a step back from producing this podcast. I get into it in more detail in the show. However, I encourage you to not unsubscribe, I may still update this feed with new content every now and then. Today I bring back my favorite co-host and my daughter Chloe who I was excited to share my love for 90's alt-rockers Garbage. It's actually wrong to peg them as just a 90's band because they've continued to put out quality music throughout the new millennium, including their latest record, No Gods, No Masters which came out this past June. I curate my 10 favorite underrated/under-appreciated tracks from their entire discography for your listening pleasure. Enjoy! I do not own the rights to any of the music played on this podcast. For a brief period of time Pop Metal (or some some referred to it as Glam Metal or Hair Metal) ruled the charts. On this weeks show I curate great songs from some of my favorite bands that aren't named Poison, Kiss, or Motley Crue. So grab your bottle of Jack Daniels, tease out your hair, and crank of up the volume on today's episode! I do not own the rights to any of the music played on this podcast. Welcome to this weeks episode of The ABC's of Rock. On this show I feature the amazing 90's funk metal/alt-rock band that most certainly should be celebrated for much more than their hit acoustic ballad, 'More Than Words". I'm talking about Extreme. I invite you on this musical journey through their recording career as I curate my favorite deeper albums cuts from all 5 of the studio LP's. Happy 4th of July weekend everyone! I continue with the theme of New Wave and Synth Pop for at least one more week as we move on to the letter D which is represented by Duran Duran. They are one of the bands that were a major part of my childhood in the early 80s as I grew up watching MTV waiting with heightened anticipation for their videos to show up. On this episode I curate 10 songs that I feel were underrated/under-appreciated from the first half of their recording career (up through their 1993 release, Duran Duran aka The Wedding Album). I sincerely hope you enjoy this episode and let me know what you think of the show. I'd love to hear from you. I do not own the rights to any of the music played on this podcast. This week is the inaugural episode featuring a specific genre of music. It's been building towards this for a while, especially with my co-host urging me to focus an entire episode on her favorite style of music, New Wave. On this show I've curated 10 songs from bands/musicians from both sides of the pond that fall under the very big umbrella of New Wave. Most of the bands here are very well known for at least one or two huge hits, but as always on The ABC's of Rock, we're going to showcase music you may have not been aware of from these extremely gifted artists. So tune and and lets all expand our horizons in the the glorious world of New Wave! I do not own the rights to any of the music played on this podcast. Call it Goth Rock, Alt Rock, New Wave, Post Punk, it doesn't matter...The Cure blazed their own path and created their own style of music. This week I take a deep dive into the first half of their recording career, everything from Three Imaginary Boys through The Head On The Door and curate some cool underrated and under-appreciated songs for both fans and newbies alike. We all have our own personal "Concert Bucket List". On this weeks episode I share ten of my favorite bands/musicians that I haven't had the privilege of seeing LIVE in concert in my life. I did establish some criteria for this list. It has to be physically possible for me to actually see them live at some point. So they have to be a ALIVE, and ACTIVE. I never got to see David Bowie live, and I just never will....I have to live with that. So someone like him isn't on this list. This list is 10 bands/artists that I feel I do have a legitimate shot at seeing in concert before they hang it up for good. I hope you enjoy this one...it's full of lots of hard rock and metal. Plus this week includes the long awaited return of my daughter Chloe as my co-host. She wasn't a fan of much of the music, but we still had a great time bantering about the songs. I do not own the rights to any of the music played on this podcast. The musicians or the music labels own the copyright. I play this music under the doctrine of Fair Use.
