A story is not just a story, it is someone’s life experience. Sayantani Dasgupta grew up believing in the magic of her writing. From the very beginning with a magic red pen, she believed she would be a writer who brought the most enchanting stories to the page. Inspired by her grandfather, aunts, uncles and many mentors along the way she is now paying tribute to them. She is a professor, writer and visionary for anyone who dreams of writing. In our conversation you will fall in love with her heart and humor as she shares how she made her way to the United States one story at a time.

  • The importance of community and diverse conversations in shaping one's childhood experiences
  • The impact of supportive parents and grandparents in nurturing a passion for writing
  • Sayantani could have stayed in New Delhi, India but instead she pursued her passion for creative writing. The road was NOT easy and she shares it with us
  • Know where you come from and the generational sacrifices that have been done for you- What have your grandparents, or great grandparents done so you could have the life you have?
  • It is never too early to start the conversations with your children regarding the world, culture so they can become a world citizen
  • The significance of stepping outside of one's comfort zone to gain a broader perspective and foster empathy Taking risks and embracing discomfort can lead to personal growth and new opportunities.
