In this episode of The Cameron Brown Show, I had the privilege of sitting down with Colonel Vicken A. Bezjian (Ret.), where we delve into his remarkable military career, his global experiences in both business and service, his upbringing in Lebanon, and the profound significance of family in his life.
Colonel Vicken A. Bezjian is an Air Intelligence Agency Individual Mobilization Augmentee, assigned to Headquarters Defense Intelligence Agency, Defense Attaché Service as a Reserve Air Attaché, Middle East and Africa Regional Center (MARC). As a Defense Attaché assigned to the Directorate of Operations, Colonel Bezjian advised and assisted US Ambassadors, country teams on military issues and represents US Secretary of Defense and Secretary of the Air Force in host countries while deployed.
Colonel Bezjian started his career as an enlisted member of the California Air National Guard and specialized in wide band communications specialist. In 1990, then Technical Sergeant Bezjian received his Federal and State commission as an officer in the USAF from the Academy of Military Science, McGee Tyson AFB, Tennessee. He progressed through various assignments as a communications officer (presently Cyber Defense) and a Foreign Area Officer. After serving a tour of duty in Yemen, as a Foreign Area Officer, Col Bezjian transferred to the AF
Reserve and was selected to be a Reserve Air Attaché assigned to the Defense Intelligence Agency, Sub-Sahara Africa Division. As an attaché, he has served four additional tours of duty in Ethiopia & Chad (2007), Chad (2014), Niger (2015-2016), Jordan (2016-2017) plus various short tours at US Embassies in Sub-Sahara Africa to include Uganda, Mali, Democratic Republic of Congo and Niger. Led the AF Reserve Element which was composed of reserve attachés and SNCOs for worldwide deployments for the Defense Attaché Service.
As a civilian, Colonel Bezjian has a Masters in International Business Administration (MIBA) and a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) degrees. He is an associate professor of business and teaches international business strategy, global marketing, international management and leadership for graduate programs. He speaks Arabic, Arminian and some French.
