Manage episode 361559755 series 3409095
Eric Tully's brand new book, "Reading the Prophets As Christian Scripture: A Literary, Canonical, and Theological Introduction" is the basis for this interview. We explore the meaning of prophecy, the role of OT prophets, the false prophets, the canon of Scripture, and the themes and theology of the prophets. We also consider the history of Israel and Judah as it relates to the prophets, their "persuasive strategies", the oral to written process, and the relevance of prophetic literature for the modern reader. Dr. Tully also takes us on a brief tour of each of the 16 major and minor prophetic books. Enjoy the interview!
