Lord of the Rings is a cinematic masterpiece that has captured the hearts of millions of movie-goers and book lovers alike. The film has been adapted from the iconic novel of the same name, written by J.R.R. Tolkien. The film and book series depict an epic battle of good versus evil set in a fictional world known as Middle Earth. But what makes Lord of the Rings stand out from other fantasy films or books is the way it makes you believe that Middle Earth is a real place—a place that exists outside of the story being told. A world that is more than just the setting for the characters' adventures.

The decision to split The Hobbit into three films feels like it was made solely for monetary gain rather than to serve the narrative. Other franchises like Harry Potter and Twilight did the same thing, but it doesn't work for The Hobbit. The result is that the entire product suffers when it could have worked just as well as a single film. Fans of the book were disappointed to see non-existent characters making appearances in the trilogy, and those who hadn't read the book found the plotlines convoluted and confusing. In short, the decision to make three movies out of The Hobbit was a mistake.
