Your life is a story, and you are the main character. Every choice you make in your life is intended to move you closer to your ultimate goal: to get everything you’ve ever wanted. The reason you want everything you’ve ever wanted is that you believe when you get everything you’ve ever wanted, you’ll live happily ever after.
This doesn’t mean what you think it means.
Happily ever after is not the end of the story of your life. Happily ever after means you have a foundation of happiness. Happily ever after isn’t a happy ending. Happily ever after is a happy beginning. The Story of Your Life is just getting started.
To achieve a goal, you need to know three things. You need to know what it is, you need to know where it is, and you need to know how to get there.
The Human Game will give you better answers to all three of these questions. You will know what happiness is and what’s required to experience it. You will know where happiness is. And you will understand your current approach to happiness—and what you can do to improve it.
