With over a quarter of a million dollars on the line in a huge cash game at the Lodge Card Club in Texas, no one wants to be ‘that guy’ to call the clock on someone. When playing deep-stacked cash games, you can & should apply a lot of pressure to your opponents when you have draws. Many of your opponent’s holdings will not be able to withstand big bets across multiple streets. However, you should be cautious in multiway pots, as you will be betting or raising into more than one range.

James, also known by “Tesla” is an American amateur poker player and entrepreneur who lives in Panama City Beach, Florida, USA. This was his first appearance on The Lodge Live Stream.

Zach Hambrice ‘Stache’ is an American amateur poker player. He’s a management consultant at FTI Consulting, where he leverages his expertise in compliance and regulation. In addition to his role at FTI Consulting. He has played over 53 times in live streamed cash games and has won over $9,000.

In early 2022, poker professionals Doug Polk, Brad Owen, and Andrew Neeme joined forces to acquire a controlling stake in The Lodge Poker Club & Card Room, which happens to be the largest poker establishment in Austin, Texas. This exclusive poker club, accessible only to its members, boasts an impressive array of amenities, including over 80 poker tables of cash games and tournaments, operating around-the-clock.

Preflop:
With the $200 straddle on, Nik Airball raises to $500 with 42 of hearts. Tesla calls with 98o in the cutoff and Brown Balla calls with K9o on the button. After the small blind folds, Stache squeezes to $2,500 from the big blind with 43 of clubs. Airball calls with his low suited one-gapper, as does Tesla, but Brown Balla folds and they head to the flop three-way.

Flop – Ks 7s 5h:
The king-high, two-spade flop doesn’t pair any of the players’ holdings, but it does provide some draws. Stache, holding just a gutshot to the low end of a straight opts to check rather than fire out a continuation bet. Airball has a backdoor straight draw and the only backdoor flush draw, as he checks. Tesla, with a gutshot straight draw to the nuts checks back.

Turn – 6h:
Stache turns a seven-high straight with his suited connector and believes he’s hit the jackpot. Little does he know that the 6 of hearts is the worst card in the deck for him as he is now drawing dead! He bets $5,000, only to be met by a raise to $16,500 from Airball, who has picked up a backdoor heart flush draw and an open-ended straight draw. Tesla has hit his dream card, improving to the nuts. He puts in the rare cold 3-bet to $31,625, which both Stache and Airball call.

River – 3d:
The 3 of diamonds river is a brutal card for Airball, as it improves his hand to a seven-high straight. Stache and Airball both check it over to Tesla, who fires out an overbet of $125,000. Stache makes the call with his straight, and now the action is on Airball, who holds the same straight. It shouldn’t take too long for Airball to make his decision, perhaps just one or two minutes.
