Groupthink is a phenomenon that occurs when a group of people makes decisions or takes actions that are more extreme or risky than what any individual in the group would do alone. This can happen when the group values harmony and agreement over critical thinking and independent judgment.

Collective IQ, on the other hand, refers to the intelligence or problem-solving ability of a group. It is not simply the sum of the individual IQs of the members, but rather the way in which the group interacts and collaborates to solve problems.

While there is some evidence to suggest that groups with higher collective IQs are less likely to fall victim to groupthink, the relationship between the two concepts is complex and not fully understood. Some research has suggested that diverse groups with a range of perspectives and backgrounds are more likely to have high collective IQs, as they are better able to consider multiple viewpoints and come up with innovative solutions. However, even diverse groups can still fall victim to groupthink if they prioritize consensus over critical thinking.
