Today we are continuing the journey of Writrrr. An AI consulting startup with a CEO and four employees (Product Manager (AI expert), Developer, Marketer, and Salesperson).
This episode will explore issues CEO Jordan is having with his Product Manager. The Product Manager doesn't want to talk to customers as that is the job of others in the team. Is the PM justified in this position or not?
We will also look at some intricacies of the product management role at this company size and will break down common product issues.
Who should listen?
Founders of startups, Product Managers, and employees of startups.
Why should you listen?
You will better understand what a Product Manager should and shouldn’t be doing and in particular, how they should be interacting with customers if they should at all.
Some of the specifics that this episode will cover include:
- What makes an ideal PM at this size of company?
- What’s an activation point and why are they important?
- What’s a lane stayer and shouldn't they work in startups?
- What’s a situation where a Product Manager would be justified in not talking to customers?
- Can Product Managers just look at behavioural data?
- Do you need a Product Manager at this sized company?
- Who in the team should be talking to customers?
This episode is co-hosted by Jack Ferguson and Alex Urquhart
