Manage episode 418017030 series 3562140
The RNL Show comes to you in an extraordinary moment, when the genocide of the Palestinian people by Israel, fully backed and supported by the US, is poised to take another, almost unimaginably horrific turn, with the bombing beginning now in Rafah. A million Palestinians were forced to flee to this border city.
This is also a moment when students at universities across the US have stood up against the genocide of the Palestinian people. Almost 2500 have been arrested for demanding that schools and government stop supporting this genocide. Students and faculty have faced fascist thugs, paramilitary police, rubber bullets, bear spray and beatings. Yet their actions have inspired tens of thousands to rally to their support.
All this has posed big questions: Why is the US doing what it is doing in Gaza? Why are the students meeting such vicious repression? The RevComs have gone into the midst of this, to talk about how the struggle must broaden and deepen. And they've struggled to open a door for students to get into the movement for an actual revolution.
At the back end of the show, we hear Alan Goodman, reporting on the reality of genocide in Gaza. Sunsara Taylor interviews Amina and Rafael Kadaris of the RevCom Corps for the Emancipation of Humanity, who were unjustly arrested last week at UCLA.
The show begins with voices from the RevCom Corps celebration of Revolutionary MayDay 2024, in Los Angeles. There were also rallies in Harlem, New York, as well as Texas, and the Bay Area in California. In Chicago, they marched to an encampment at the Art Institute of Chicago, where two members of the RevComs were arrested.
Following this will be Bob Avakian, talking about, what is a real revolution? This is an excerpt from the Bob Avakian Interviews, available at the RevComs YouTube channel, and at revcom.us.
