The UN Brief interviewed Gianni Magazzeni, the Universal Periodic Review Branch Chief at the UN Human Rights Council, to speak about the current review session underway and why developed Western democracies, as well as developing and fragile states, benefit from these periodic reviews to accelerate progress in the implementation of their human rights protection legislation and, most importantly, to actually apply it.
