The 8th Miracle of Jesus from the book of John is his resurrection. The resurrection can be difficult to grasp because it defies human reason. John's gospel helps us make sense of God's "full circle" plan to bring all of creation back into a state of shalom. (peace, wholeness) The seven miracles before the resurrection echo the 7 days of creation. With the 8th miracle, we see Jesus beginning something new- a new cycle of creation in which sin and death have been defeated and we live in freedom. We are resurrection people, and we partner with Jesus to bring shalom to all of creation!
