An author, panelist, and speaker, Dr. Loy routinely presents on innovative cancer initiatives, the evolving landscape of health care delivery and population health initiatives. Dr. Loy is the Corporate Medical Director- Oncology, Laboratory and Personalized Medicine at Humana. He leads Humana’s cancer care strategy, including quality and value initiatives for medical and radiation oncology in all 50 states. He works with the nation’s most prominent commercial labs. He and his team collaborate directly with industry leading medical oncologists and practices committed to improving the patient experience. He recently completed his 3rd year as an advisor and served as co-chair for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) advisory panel charged to evaluate appropriate payment for new complex lab tests. Dr. Loy has 15+ years of experience in evaluating drugs and biologics, medical devices, laboratory tests and innovations for effectiveness and payment. He is a voting member for Humana’s Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee and Humana’s Vendor and Ethics committee. As part of Humana’s Bold Goal work, he helped initiate and co-leads the Louisville Health Advisory Board, a collective impact, public-private partnership. This partnership now employs a population health technology platform combined with community initiatives to improve access to agencies and resources that address social determinants of health. In previous roles, he served as a medical director for a multi-state Medicare contractor and as Chief Medical Officer for an innovative lab focused on precision medicine. He has guided collaboration with 100,000+ member employer groups to align on improving the member experience, clinical outcomes and the cost of care. Dr. Loy completed his MD, residency, and MBA at the University of Louisville. He is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Hematology.
