The Truth About My (eventual) Overnight Success
Manage episode 223970793 series 1877724
The only reason I’m writing this is to recall it in 2,3,4 years when everybody is calling me an overnight success.
During the past 3 months alone, I’ve managed to build up a social media following of over 130k people, met with multiple government ambassadors, and am about to collaborate with some of the biggest names within culture.
I’m not just some random dude in the entertainment industry. Slowly but surely, I’m becoming “that guy” which is on everyone’s mind.
Many many people will call it an overnight success. But for me, it was 20 years in the making.
During high school, I hardly went outside. This wasn’t because I was lonely or had no friends. That wasn’t the case. Instead, I was focused on my dreams, my ambitions, and my future. From day one, I was putting in the work that would build the foundations for my success. I continue that philosophy to this very day.
During college, I didn’t go out and play football like everyone else. As my classmates know, I often went into a secluded room in the music department, and worked on my craft. Every single day.
Even as I write this now, I get messages from people I used to go to school with telling me how successful I am becoming. It’s not luck. I’m not lucky. All I did was actually put in the work to fuel my ambitions.
The truth is that I’ve only just begun. My ambitions are ridiculously huge to the point in which they’re probably unhealthy considering the amount of work it will take to achieve them.
It takes a lot of hard work, passion & talent to acheive something truly great. Writing this now, I don’t know the future. Heck, i don’t even know what country I’ll be in this time next month.
But what I do know is that no matter where I am in the world, I have the strength, work ethic, and persistence to work hard on my dreams every single day for the rest of my life.
Nothing great comes easy.
