In this episode, we talked about understanding mental health and different perspective on mental health from a western medicine versus African Traditional medicine. The comparison between Western medicine and African traditional medicine involves complex considerations of culture, history, science, and healthcare systems. While Western medicine is dominant globally and based on rigorous scientific principles, African traditional medicine represents a rich and diverse heritage of healing practices that continue to play important roles in many communities. Efforts to bridge the gap between these two systems can lead to more inclusive and effective healthcare for diverse populations. We are joined by two special guests: First, Aicha Cisse, a licensed therapist with extensive work experience in the social work and therapy fields. Mohamed Conde is a successful accountant at a major bank. He spent parts of his childhood in Guinea, where he was exposed to different forms of medicine, both western and traditional.
