On this episode of Vanguards of Democracy, we are joined by two leaders in our community First, host Sean Shaw sits down with Ms. Gwendolyn Reese with the AfAM Heritage Association, to learn about black history in St. Pete - specifically the AfAM Heritage Trails. Later on in the show, Sean is joined by Tonya Lewis to discuss opportunities to get involved and create change within our community.

Ms. Reese is an activist and change agent in this community for more than 40 years, is President of the African American Heritage Association of St. Petersburg, FL, Inc., President and CEO of Peaten Reese Peaten Consulting, Inc., Co-Chair of the Pinellas Community Remembrance Project, and serves on the St. Petersburg Community Preservation & Planning Commission.

Ms. Tonya Lewis is the Founder of Children with a Vision a non profit organization providing leadership in the pursuit of excellence and creating effective learning opportunities for all. Ms. Lewis Founder of the annual Back to School Bash and Grandmother's Gala.
