Meet Lorelei Felchlin, the Founder and Executive Director of Sahale Outdoors, an outdoor education nonprofit in the South Sound area. After hanging up her Army boots after twelve years, volunteering for various other nonprofits and receiving a Masters degree in Outdoor Recreational Programming, she followed her passion for teaching and introducing people in the outdoors by starting a nonprofit with that focus. Her mission is to offer welcoming and inclusive outdoor activities to marginalized youth, foster a sense of belonging in the outdoors, and create space for play and discovery while also providing opportunities for youth to grow, lead, and experience the outdoors, despite social, cultural, and environmental barriers.
