The 1996/97 season revisited: Wenger, Ravanelli, Zola & sweary Peter Reid
Manage episode 407436963 series 3560205
Host Carl Jones is joined by comedian, author, podcaster and Chelsea fan Damien St John and author, returning guest and Middlesbrough fan Rob Fletcher to unpick the memorable moments, goals, transfers and matches of 1996/97.
There's a new challenger in town with the arrival of Arsene Wenger, an influx of talent from Serie A at Stamford Bridge, big-spending Middlesbrough will see their ambitions quelled by a bit of a bug going round before Christmas and Sunderland will invite a documentary crew in to capture their expletive-filled return to Division One. All this and lots more.
We also choose between some truly iconic Premier League goals in our Goal of the Season, select the greatest ever Premier League import from Burkina Faso and end with a competitive bout of #PlayYourAppsRight.
