There’s a veritable smorgasbord of cosmic energies to pick and choose from this week. Not least of them being the start of our second Mercury retrograde of the year. Our Archetypal messenger hasn’t done his shifty backwards dance for a while, so let’s not get our knickers in a knot about it. Instead, let’s make this retrograde work for us , darlings.

But how?

Well, for starters, we can leverage the energy of practical Virgo to our advantage. Mercury is, after all, right at home in this sign of his rulership. That’s already a significant victory. So, by Wednesday, the day he slows down, let's make sure that we have our proverbial ducks in a row. Let’s organize as much as we can, wherever we can. The Sun’s shift into this self-same sign on the very same day lends us a much-needed boost of productive energy. Sure, things will go wrong. Texts will get misconstrued. Diary bookings will mysteriously disappear. Our routines may go out of the window. Yet, this does give us a much -needed opportunity to rest and reflect. To think about whether or not all this scheduling and planning is actually working for us, or if we’re just doing the same thing over and over again out of comfortable habit. You see? This retrograde may actually be exactly what we need.

However, before we get too excitable, be warned that the buildup to this retrograde might be a little slippery. With the opposition of Mars and Neptune on Tuesday, situations, circumstances, people, just seem, well, confusing. And with Venus and Jupiter meeting in their second (terribly excessive and grand) square, it’s oh-so-easy to go over the top. It's a tricky combination, but it’ll all be over soon, so take heart, sweetheart. By Saturday, once Mars and Pluto unite in an empowering trine, we’ll have much more control over the situation. This is just in time for Mars to change signs and march into diplomatic Libra on Sunday. Here, he's all about making love, not war (for a change). To flirt, to please, to create, to indulge, to adore, to flirt. Go ahead and bat those eyelashes. Smile. Charm. Use what your momma gave you, baby. All weeks should end like this.
