One of the most compelling things about our faith is its emphasis on compassion and care for those in need. But why do we emphasize this? Because at the core of our faith is Jesus, who saw us in our need and had compassion on us…showing us grace and mercy. So as followers of Jesus we do the same, having compassion for those in need, showing mercy, and extending grace to those who are in need. From the beginning God has shown extra care for those who are most vulnerable like widows, orphans, single moms, refugees, and persecuted peoples. Our goal is that as we follow Jesus our hearts will bend towards the vulnerable as well.
