This week we welcome Jessica Rambo, the founder of The Painted Buffalo Traveling Studio. Painted Buffalo Traveling Studio is A 501(c)(3) nonprofit Veteran Artist founded and operated mobile art studio. In between adventuring around the United Sates in their converted school bus, Jessica and family focus on getting veterans art supplies to tell their own stories through art. For them art supplies don't always mean pens and paint brushes though! Jessica, a Marine Corps Veteran, likes to dip in the creative making with the Glowforge, laser engraver, and sometimes even pulls out the Potters wheel that's stored below. With the use of community based art practices and Art Therapy methods Painted Buffalo Traveling Studio is dedicated to getting veterans outside, art supplies in hand telling their stories. Jessica talks about the recovery process and the importance of building a tool box for healing. We talk about transitioning from the military, and all of the ups and downs that a veteran encounters. Jessica also talks about the Paint Can Project, her effort to provide ammo cans full of art supplies to veterans all over the country. So whether the nomadic life calls to your soul, or you just want to tap into your inner Bob Ross...this is the episode for you.
