Medic Canada partners with Rotary Clubs of Canada as well as the Community Initiatives Program, a provincial program that matches grants and donations dollar for dollar for up to 25,000 dollars. In the past 5 years they have matched 295,000 dollars’ worth of grants to Medic. Medic currently has over 3000 loans out, helping over 12,000 people with 85 percent of the loans going to women. They are also supporting 12 schools in Benin and Ghana. Since beginning to help the school’s student population has increased by 5 to 15 percent. Founded in 2004, Medic Canada has helped bring hope to budding communities in Ghana, Benin and Sri Lanka. Medic hopes to begin work in India soon.
