Jennessa Groves, D-1 standout women’s soccer player for the University of Texas and Loyola Marymount University, joins Glenn on the Field for the next installment of the Focused Driven Athlete: Athletic Spotlight. Jennessa shares her personal journey growing up in Palos Verdes, CA and how she twice led her High School to the California Interscholastic Federation HS regional championship game and state championship as a freshman athlete. She also shares what it was like to lead her Beach FC soccer club program to compete and win the So Cal Division Soccer League (SCDSL), the mental and physical demands of playing in the Development Academy, and overcoming sever injuries that plagued her career. Jennessa also talks about her recruiting process to be a student-athlete in the Big 12 Conference, what it was like growing up in a professional sports family, and her plans of getting drafted for an international professional soccer team.
