Manage episode 311760601 series 3180593
David Diamond was raised primarily in San Diego California. David Diamond speaks with Jane about his rough upbringing riddled with abuse and neglect. He also touches on his mother acknowledging the fact that he faced serious issues and took the initiative and bused him out of the neighborhood to a different environment and school. David Diamond’s entrepreneurial journey began at 17 when he ran google ads to sell financial literacy products. After being left to fend for himself at 19. David was constantly forced to take on odd sales jobs, ranging from door to door sales to telemarketing to survive. At 23, David was educated on how the top tier university system works and saw college as a way out. David took this extremely seriously, even while losing his sister in the middle of his educational journey he ended up graduating from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California with a degree in finance in 2014. After graduation, David worked for quite some time in Corporate America in the finance sector and found it "racist and filled with “micro-aggression”. For these reasons David decided enough was enough and he must take a stance and forge his own path sooner rather than later, by making the conscious decision to sink or swim on his own merit. He had a dream of an image of an arrow through a diamond and scribbled it in a notebook, trained more on marketing, and went into personal isolation of 9 months. With no contact whatsoever, and started “David Diamond Media,” initially telemarketing to offer advertising services. He had always been afraid to put himself on social media, he had always been afraid to learn to edit video. David forced himself into these fears and began his journey to grow the business on Instagram and use his talent for understanding what people want to see, think, hear, and feel. He changed the name to Diamond Cut Media, and soon made an edit that launched the brand into the public eye, never looking back ever since. Initially, the brand offered only marketing and advertising services, but has morphed more into a six-figure brand offering financial products to help people build their business; restructure credit and raise funds.
