This Week: In this first episode of 2024, Melinda interviews Christina Sloan, the North Mississippi Red Cross Disaster Program Specialist, and Ken Kerr, the Volunteer Recruitment Specialist. In this interview, Christina talks about to specific types of disasters that devastate families - house fires and tornadoes. Christina offers three pieces of advice on how to avoid a house fire and Ken gives information on how volunteers can give aid to those who have experienced a house fire. Christina and Ken each also give insight into disaster relief efforts provided by both professionals and volunteers following a tornado.
