Is there a connection between what we eat and how our mood is?

Can nutrients in food affect our mental health and if so, what are some of those important nutrients that can affect our brain?

Today, we're talking with Doug Cook, RD "The Gut Brain Guy". Doug has over 23 years experience as a clinical dietitian and is passionate about health and the gut/brain connection.

Doug states there's no essential foods, but, there are essential nutrients that come from a variety of foods. We discuss some of the 40 different nutrients that are critical for mental health, mood and preventing long-term health consequences to the brain.
