In this episode we hear from Tammi Jonas, an 'ethicurian' farmer of heritage-breed pigs and cattle, and president of the Australian Food Sovereignty Alliance (AFSA). Tammi is very active in the global fight for food sovereignty, advocating in numerous UN governing bodies. She is undertaking a PhD on the biodiverse and decolonising practices of agroecological farmers, and is an editor and co-author of Farming Democracy.
We talk about what food sovereignty is, community supported agriculture (CSA), the impacts of COVID on small producers, legislative barriers, food systems and zoonotic disease, regenerative agriculture and radical transparency.
