The opioid crisis is as rampant as any other time in history and a lot of work remains to be done until we can feel the progress being made. Every so often though, we have the privilege of meeting someone behind the work, someone who's committed a significant portion of their profession and of their lives to creating a world where the opioid epidemic is no more.

What you’ll hear in this episode of the Public Health Insight Podcast is a captivating conversation with Dr. Jennifer Loeffler-Cobia, Director of Justice and Public Health Policy and Practice at WestEd Justice and Prevention Research Center.

She shares her journey into public health and her transition into criminal justice, why she got her DrPH many years after her Master’s degree, and her experiences advocating for policy change on Capitol Hill. We also get to learn more about her in the Insight Blitz segment, where she talks about living in Utah and the worst piece of advice she’s ever gotten.
