Pray, or Be Eaten?
Manage episode 438812500 series 2998965
The title may be a little tongue in cheek, but the principles gained from Daniel chapter 6 are very real. Today, we're invited to delve deeper into the story of Daniel in the lions' den. This isn't just a children's tale, but a profound narrative about integrity, faith, and the power of prayer. We see Daniel, a man in his 70s or 80s, choosing to stand firm in his beliefs despite the threat of death.
His unwavering commitment to prayer, three times daily facing Jerusalem, becomes the focal point of his enemies' attack. Yet, it's this very practice that sustains him through the ordeal. We're challenged to consider: are we 'prayed up' before trials come? Do we have a consistent prayer life that prepares us for whatever challenges we may face? This message urges us to prioritize prayer, not as a legalistic practice, but as a vital relationship with our living God.
