Hopes and expectations in some quarters that AI will revolutionise security management are increasingly balanced by a growing concern by its negative traits. A recent ASIS Foundation study which noted that AI use in security was currently ‘unsophisticated’ and unlikely to change for ten years, has also warned of the civil liberty implications. Recently a US Business Roundtable group released guidelines for companies to develop ‘responsible A.I.’ One CEO, has argued the need for caution because ‘You cannot reverse engineer responsible A.I.’ There is a call for oversight by diverse teams, a focus on mitigating bias, building in effective security safeguards work.
This webinar will discuss:
- What are the concerns about AI that we need to manage?
- How manageable are they and how concerned should we be?
- What does the future of AI in security look like?
Panellists:
Deborah Evans - Security & Defence Researcher, Southwest Research Services
Dr Michael Coole - Security Science Researcher, Edith Cowan University
Chris Cubbage - Director & Executive Editor, MySecurity Media
