In this episode, we welcome Jemma Bella to the Business of Healthcare podcast to share her experiences of living with long covid.

What is long COVID? Most people with COVID-19 feel better within a few days or weeks of their first symptoms and make a full recovery within 12 weeks. For some people, symptoms can last longer. This is called long COVID or post COVID-19 syndrome. Long COVID is a new condition which is still being studied.

Jemma and I discussed:

  1. Mental Health

  2. Stigma associated with the condition

  3. Feelings of blame, guilt, acceptance and the importance of control

  4. Access support via the NHS

  5. The importance of community

  6. Mindset

  7. What it means to be healthy

  8. The purpose of the long covid collective

  9. The support from her family

  10. Financial considerations moving forward
