Welcome to the Wellbeing and career world podcast, I am delighted to be chatting with Lesley Cooper. Lesley is a management consultant with over 25 years’ experience in the design and delivery of all elements of employee wellbeing management programmes.

In 1997 Lesley founded WorkingWell, an award-winning specialist consultancy that helps companies to manage workplace pressure in a way that facilitates growth and development. With her team at WorkingWell, Lesley designs and delivers programmes that enable clients to see how workplace pressure is being experienced by their employees and use this information to empower every team and team member to get the best from themselves and each other, so that they can perform sustainably and healthily to the highest standard. WorkingWell was shortlisted for “Best Wellbeing Service Provider” at the Great British Workplace Wellbeing Awards 2021.

She is co-author with the late Dr Stephen Williams of “Dangerous Waters – Strategies for Improving Wellbeing at Work”, published by John Wiley & Sons and “Managing Workplace Stress – a best practice blueprint” published by CBI Books.

listeners know more about your background? Could you explain what workplace wellbeing is? Why is it important to have a wellbeing program in a company? Can workplace wellbeing be seen as an element of a company's brand identity? In your own experience how do employees typically perceive corporate wellbeing programs or initiatives? Is there skepticism regarding their authenticity? What can companies do to overcome any employee skeptics? Have you experienced any client employees challenge you on it being a branding exercise only, how do you overcome this and what can companies do to show wellbeing is an important part of company culture? Can you share examples of companies that have successfully involved employees in designing or tailoring their wellbeing initiatives? Lesley, you are the founder of WorkingWell, can you explain more about WorkingWell and what services you provide? Is having employee feedback an important tool for the workplace? What are some common pitfalls or challenges organizations face when trying to genuinely prioritize workplace wellbeing?
