Rev. Jeanette B. Jordan, M.Div, CLC, is the Pastor of Journey to the Cross Ministries - a multi Denominational Church that was planted in September of 2009. A native of Chicago, Illinois she responded to God’s call into the Ministry in February 1996 and was licensed by the Evangelical Church Alliance in April 1998, ordained August 12, 1999. She attended the Evangelical Church Alliance Bible Institute in Bradley, Illinois and was licensed in 1998 and ordained in 1999. She is a graduate of the McCormick Theological Seminary class of 2003 with an M.Div. Degree. Prior to becoming a Pastor, she worked hand in hand with her husband, Robert A. Jordan, M.D., Pediatrician. In 1982 she became the executive administrator of her husband's pediatric practice.
They grew his practice to becoming one of the most well-known pediatric practices in the Chicago and South Suburbs communities, South Suburban Pediatrics. They provided care for the mind, body and soul, caring for the indigent, the affluent and those in-between. In 1995 they formed a non-profit entity, Far South Side Community Health Center, where they partnered with hospitals and community businesses to provide a one day back to school free physical exam including immunizations, dental exams, and school supplies. Together, they offered these services for over 15 years including providing free food baskets and clothing giveaways to the community during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
After having given his life to doing what he wanted most, Dr. Jordan had to retire from practice in 2017 because he was afflicted with, what she calls "BOAD" (bitch of a disease), Alzheimers/Dementia. She has become an educational volunteer with the Chicago Alzheimer's Association and has completed a course from Emory University on effective caregiving for those suffering this BOAD! Presently Dr. Jordan is in a Long-Term Care Facility being cared for by a team of caring, loving, dedicated caregivers who allow Pastor Jordan to continue to be lead caregiver!
Dr. Jordan wrote a book that was published in 2017, "From Suspenders to Stethoscope- the Dr. Jordan Story" available through thehotreads.com. Proceeds support the Alzheimer's Association!
