Things I Didn't Know (11) - Paul D. Lowe & Keith Amoss
Manage episode 448870861 series 2415236
On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast Paul talks to Keith Amoss about the things he didn’t know that he now knows and thinks the world should know.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
Are you comfortable in not knowing? There’s something about us as humans where we’re not that comfortable with it, we like to have things mapped out, simple things like what we’re eating tonight, where we’re going on holiday, what time work starts in the morning, who you’re speaking to on Zoom that day. As you get older, personally speaking, you get a little bit more worried about it in some areas and less in others.
Ignorance over the years has come to mean someone who is despised. But it’s also a choice, a deliberate act. You can choose to get involved in what’s going on in the US election, for example, form an opinion, change your mind, look again, or if you think it’s too demanding for your soul you can choose to think whatever happens over there happens and I have no influence.
What is impossible to know when you’re 18 is how you body is going to be and how you are going to be physically. When you’re older we can all look back and think I wish I’d taken a bit more care or done some things differently.
BEST MOMENTS
‘A deliberate choice not to want to know more about a thing, I think that’s reasonable'.
‘Do we get to a stage in our autumn years of deliberately deny ourselves, or not thinking about important things about our future health, how we’ll live and be looked after. Do we think it won’t happen to us?’
‘Living in the moment is so powerful. It’s not an easy concept to get at first but once you get it you get it'.

ABOUT THE HOST
Paul has made a remarkable transformation from existing for many years in dark, desperate despair; to now living a really healthy, happy & fulfilling life.
From an early age, he was in the vice-like clutches of the demon drink & constantly embroiled within a dark cocktail of toxic beliefs, self-hate & destructive violence.

This has been built on a long & distinguished history of heart-centred coaching and mentoring. He has also been responsible for raising significant amounts of funds for many charities & good causes around the world; positively impacting & inspiring thousands of children – mainly from challenging backgrounds – within the UK & worldwide.
Through this World Game-Changers podcast & books, he has been involved in – including being a best-selling co-author – Paul also helps others to get their own inspirational messages and stories out into the world; as well as offering support to many charitable organisations, in their development & fund-raising.
