Welcome back to the Chasing Brighter Podcast. Monday Mom Talk is a weekly series where Jessica and Kelly catch up on their weekend and tackle all sorts of topics from the mundane to controversial. In this week's episode we discuss our personal fitness goals and the changes we're making in our lives to meet them. We playfully discuss the switch from FitBit to Apple Watches and the concept of 'closing rings' as a motivation for healthier behaviors. Both agree upon the importance of self-accountability in pursuing fitness. They highlight the significance of setting personal health metrics over fixating on weight. Disappointment towards FitBit no longer allowing competitions in its free version is also expressed. Mention is made of a mobile application, Future, that provides customized workout solutions and a personal virtual trainer as an efficient way to maintain fitness routines. The ladies also stress the importance of vigorous exercise in promoting longevity. The latter part of the discussion revolves around clean eating habits and the need to avoid junk foods.
