Francios Jacobs, from Franschhoek, South Africa, shares how, with humble beginnings, he became a wine host in ‘The Wine Studio’ at the esteemed farm Mullineux & Leeu and found a love for the art of winemaking.
Francios grew up on Simonsig Wine Estate, with his grandmother working in the vineyards and his mother in the cellars. While Francios dreamed of becoming a lawyer after leaving school, he looked beyond life’s challenges and took hold of the opportunities presented to him in his gap year after high school. He is now proudly and passionately working in the wine industry while changing his beliefs about the journey of life and his understanding of wine. Francios’s willingness to learn is tangible. His internal growth has aided him in fulfilling his dream of creating more opportunities for himself, his children, and his community at large all while developing a passion for the art of wine.
