He was swept off his feet by her declarations of love and grandiose gestures, like meeting her family after only two weeks of dating. However, these actions were not motivated by genuine affection, but rather a desire for control. The relationship quickly devolved into emotional manipulation, characterized by guilt trips, accusations, and dramatic meltdowns whenever he tried to assert his independence.
