In honour of Women’s History month, hosts Tamara Parris and Amandeep Beesla are having candid conversations with industry guests about what it really means to be a woman in a male-dominated industry. We’ll be kicking off the first show with special guest, Candice Brown. With over 15 years experience in health and safety across the construction industry, Candice is passionate about improving both the physical and mental health and well being for all workers.
This four-part exclusive series will cover the ups and downs of three influential women’s careers in safety. Following the progression of women in the industry, the Women in Safety Show is uncovering the past and paving the way for future women to find success in safety.
Our Guest Candice Brown:
With over 15 years of experience in health and safety across the BC construction industry, Candice is passionate about improving the physical and mental health and safety of all workers in the industry. She has spent her career working to move the conversation of safety away from hazard elimination and behaviour modification to a more holistic approach of listening to workers in the field and finding solutions that stem directly from their needs. She is a mental health advocate and has successfully headed various collaborations that bring awareness to mental health in the industry. As a mother, a community member, and a volunteer, Candice is kind-hearted and dedicated in her approach to all things in or outside of work.
