Authentic human connection is imperative for our health and well being. Many of us have individual connections, but are deprived of the richness and complexity of community. Connection is a core need. When we are disconnected, we often try to fill our unmet needs with addictions and compulsions for alcohol, drugs, food, sex or shopping. When our needs for connection are met, the unhealthy desires often subside naturally.
